In partnership with the Wilmington Public Library system, the Voices of Wilmington Series brings poets, performers, readers, and community members together through public poetry readings rooted in the city’s literary and cultural life. This series creates accessible spaces for Delawareans to gather around poetry, hear local voices, and celebrate Wilmington’s role in the state’s creative history.
This commemorative edition will celebrate Delaware’s poetic legacy during the state’s 250th anniversary, bringing together selected works that reflect the voices, places, histories, and communities of the First State. Donations support research, editing, design, printing, and distribution so this historic publication can reach readers, libraries, students, and public audiences.
Our 2026 contests and celebrations invite poets, artists, readers, and community members to take part in Delaware’s literary anniversary year. From statewide creative opportunities to public gatherings and recognition events, these programs help spotlight new voices, honor contributors, and celebrate poetry as a living part of Delaware’s cultural history.
