For 20 years, the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize brought poets together from Delaware and throughout the broader Mid-Atlantic and East Coast. Founded in 2003, the contest became a distinctive part of Delaware’s literary history, pairing poetry with the independent and creative spirit of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton.

To celebrate the history of the prize and its enduring connection to the First State, The Delaware Poets Almanac partnered with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery for the Dogfish Head Poetry Heritage Award, a special statewide contest commemorating two decades of poetry at Dogfish Head.
