THE DOGFISH HEAD POETRY HERITAGE AWARD
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF POETRY
For 20 years, the Dogfish Head Poetry Prize celebrated outstanding poets from Delaware and throughout the broader Mid-Atlantic and East Coast regions.
To honor the legacy of this beloved contest and its enduring connection to the First State, The Delaware Poets Almanac has partnered with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery to present a special statewide poetry contest commemorating two decades of poetic excellence.
The winning poet and finalists will be invited to a reception at the DOGFISH HEAD MILTON BREWERY to read their works. The winner will receive a $250 Check from Dogfish Head Brewery, a bottle of DFH 250 Whiskey, & a case of DFH Beer, as well as consideration for publishing in the 2027 Delaware Poets Almanac: 250th Edition!
SUBMISSION PERIOD
August 1 through August 31
or once 250 eligible submissions are received!
The contest will be judged by JoAnn Balingit,
former Poet Laureate of Delaware.
