 The 2nd Saturday Poets is Delaware’s longest continuously running poetry reading. Founded by Delaware Poet Laureate Emerita e. jean lanyon and others in 1983, it is currently hosted by Phillip Bannowsky. 2nd Saturday Poets includes an open reading and a featured reader. Currently, their venues include either the Route 9 Library and Innovation Center or the NoMa North Market Library in Wilmington and meets every 2nd Saturday of the month, usually from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Featured readers have included all of Delaware’s Poets Laureate in the last four decades. A $10 donation is requested to pay the featured reader and support 2nd Saturday Poets. Diversity is our watchword. All are welcome.

 The Eastern Shore Writers Association (ESWA) is a vibrant literary community dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and connecting writers, authors, and poets across Delmarva and beyond.  Joseph Shipley, a Quaker merchant banker, built Rockwood between 1851 and 1854. Its Gothic Revival architecture and enchanting landscape were designed to reflect the beauty of an English country estate. The museum reflects the way the Bringhurst family, descendants of Shipley, lived during the turn of the 20th century.
